ANSYS simulation of half the component

The objective of this competition was to minimize the weight while maximizing the fracture load of a part under tension.
The scoring criteria was the following:
- Greatest fracture load (relative to weight)
- Highest degree of accuracy in predicted fracture load via ANSYS simulations
I designed a horseshoe inspired model which scored within the top 10% in the competition.
